OVERNIGHT LEADERS

Work Camp is very much like a mission trip in that students stay overnight at the host church for the entire week of their experience.  Sleeping rooms are staffed with Overnight Leader volunteers who lead cabin time reflections on the message given that night during the worship service, keep order in the rooms and hopefully help the students get a few hours of sleep before they need to be ready for the next day.

Each church must provide one overnight leader for each gender group attending Work Camp.  It is beneficial when the same Overnight Leader is on hand all week, but a different adult volunteer can come each night if necessary. Overnight leaders will lead a cabin time discussion each night.  The goal of this time is to get the students talking about their days and what God is teaching them.  Overnight leaders will be provided with discussion questions and ideas.

We can’t promise that you will get a lot of sleep if you volunteer in this role.  But, you will enjoy hearing about all of the experiences the students have had during the day, learning along with them as they process the messages being delivered and helping them navigate the experience of being away from home and stretching their faith through attending Work Camp.
