SERVICE AREAS

While Flower City Work Camp is primarily a youth program, you might be surprised to learn that more adult volunteers participate during the week of Work Camp than students do.  In fact, if it weren’t for adult volunteers we wouldn’t be able to conduct our program at all.

Adult volunteers come to us through a participating church who has applied to be a part of Work Camp and is sending students.  There are many areas for an adult to volunteer in, some of which take a lot of skill and some which take no skill at all.  We are confident that if you are willing to serve, there is a place for you at Work Camp.

Role Overviews

Required Leader – These are the volunteers that lead teams of students across a wide range of activities (Worksite, Sidewalk Club, Sport Camps and Agency Support).  These volunteers commit to a full week of service at Work Camp.

Lunch Coordinator – Each church must designate one Lunch Coordinator to plan their church’s lunch provision during Work Camp.  Lunch Coordinators recruit members of their church to help purchase or provide lunches during the week.

Overnight Leader – These leaders stay overnight with the student campers at our host church or local annex location.  These leaders also help with cabin time reflections.

Security Volunteer – These volunteers help with many different roles in and around Home Base, monitoring the property for safety and security.

All Other Volunteer – This is a catch-all category of kitchen workers, food servers, home base staff, medical team and other teams that help Work Camp operate.
